School Lunch with Conner

Eat lunch with your K-student day!
It was even chicken nuggets, yum! I love you Conner!
Three Cowboys at Nap Time (not sure how "nap" time got it's name).

Conner brought Keenan for "Show and Tell." He was so sweet with him. Conner told all about him and what he can and can not do. Keenan loved it. (It was also "hat day" for Red Ribbon Week)

Jael's Baptism

Jael Turns 8! What a Week!

Well, that was an exhausting but beautiful week, full of memories and sweet moments that I will never forget.

Jael's birthday is October 9 (which was a Thursday) but it seemed as though we celebrated all week.

On Tuesday we went to the church to meet with the Primary Presidency, they spoke with us about her baptism and fitted her with a very special white jumpsuit for her to be baptized in. Jael was impressed that it had "Glendale Ward" embroidered in the left chest. I kinda cried as I helped her into this all-white outfit. It is a precious memory I will never forget.

On Thursday, her birthday, I ate school lunch with her and had a small cupcake bash with her second grade class. (Their classroom theme this year is, "Welcome to the Swamp.") Her teacher, Mrs. Sorenson is a Florida native and bigtime "Gator" fan so Jael requested this special cupcake design. We celebrated her birthday as a family, she blew out eight candles and opened her stilts. She has wanted these stilts for so long, it was a super surprise! She is actually getting really good at them now!

Friday was the big friend party. Thirteen 7 and 8 year olds got off the bus with us and we partied hard. (This experience reminded me (again) of why I didn't go into Elementary Education)

On Sunday, Jael was baptized. She is a powerhouse of spiritual strength and special beyond words. I am so thankful that she allowed me to be her mother, I am blessed and honored and hope I can measure up. Her baptism was beautiful and sacred and I am so grateful for her example and awareness of what she was doing. Wow, what a week!

Jael loves Piano!

Jael has been thrilled with her first month of piano.

She loves her teacher and friend, Chris Maxwell.

I think she's already surpassed my music knowledge. Seriously.
